Look: Tower House

ARCHIVE: selected antiques (and a few antique lookalikes) to help create a traditional country house look:

Two antique watercolours in old velvet covered frames. Sold as a pair as they have clearly been from the same family, although they are different shapes and sizes. Delicately painted, the colours are now a little faded, but two charming pictures.

The smaller picture, shown here, is labelled on the back of the frame: 'Anemonies' by Miss M B Hopkirk. She afterwards became Mrs Laurence Hill, thus entering the Hill family, associated with the district of Maryhill.' Overall size 17 x 17cm (6.75" x 6.75") and framed to hang on the diagonal.

The larger picture is faintly labelled in pencil on the reverse (hidden by the backing board): Katherine G Hill April 1813 (?) Washington Square Port (or Fort) St. If Fort Street, it is probably and address in Ayr. L. 25.5cm, Ht. 21cm (10" x 8.25").

Sold
